Haoren and his secondary school friends initially formed a dance group few years back and name it Mustang Crew. They started performing in their own school, SM Sri Sentosa and later was invited to perform in various schools, colleges and local universities. Mustang Crew had won several dancing competitions along the years performing break dance, street dance, popping, locking and hip hop.

Mustang Crew started off with 6 members in the group and was made famous in 2007 when Haoren and his partner, Michael participate in Astro Battleground Street Dance competition and was voted for their dancing skills as well as their hilarious sense of humor. They were ranked 5th place at the end of the competition.
Haoren proceeded with his next interest in singing by participating in Astro Talent Quest in 2007 and made it to the top 20 but didn't make it to the top 10. He enrolled himself again in Astro Star Quest 2008 and won the title for 2nd runner up. He is now a new artist for Sony BMG and the brand ambassador for Brands Chicken Essence.

Mustang Crew members are still supporting Haoren all these while. They have been performing and participating in Haoren's new MV as well as live performance as Haoren's dancers.
